End of the Line…

What a show!

The week leading up to our show we had some intensive rehearsals and run throughs to ensure everything sailed as smoothly as possible on the day. We went in feeling comfortable and now know this is not a good thing! After stressing about being behind schedule we managed to turn it back around. We went down into Siren for a few hours to import all our audio onto their system and to check through all of our audio to make sure its good to go! Looking forward to the next one!

Pulling it all together….

Over the last week or so we have gotten together as a team and have produced 3 short jingles to use on our show, a 40 second audio trailer for our show and social medias and we have completed one package that we like to call Bar Chords. This segment will be an interview with local band Feel The Noize and will feature some live music. Later on today, we will be conducing an interview with James Woodliffe from Vigilantes. We shall be recording an interview with James and edit that down into a package to broadcast. As well as the interview, James is also gifting us with an acoustic performance and this will be pre recorded too. By the end of the day we should have this interview package complete, the performance recorded and edited and we shall be adding some voice overs to our jingles. I shall also be uploading some audio onto the blog. The jingles we have created, the raw uncut, unedited version of the interview with Feel the Noize and the audio trailer will all be uploaded onto here later on today.

Evolving!

This week we have begun gathering and recording content that could be used on our show. We now have our social media sites set up and they are beginning to generate a few likes! We also have recorded a couple of jingles to use in the show and now are following up the interviewees and arranging when will be best for them to come in. We have also started making one of our packages, Bar Chords. This package will consist of recordings of both live music and interviews which were taken at a local gig/jam night in Horncastle. We are set to meet up again as a group either at the weekend or early next week to begin editing the package. We shall also be out recording vox pops asking for peoples opinions on the state of the local music scene and what they enjoy the most!

The Next Step…

This last week we have met up as a group and come up with a rough running order to map out the show and to fill in the hour. We have come up with a few ideas including small packages at a local gig night asking the publics opinions on matters. We have been reaching out to find people who will be willing to join us for an interview for the show. I have 2 interviews lined up and am negotiating when will be best to get them in to be recorded. We now have the social media platforms up and running and will be updating it with our progress and add some visual imagery too. Earlier on today we all went into the multitrack to record a jingle to use at the top of our show. We will be meeting again as a group at the ned of the week to discuss progress and what the next steps will be!

The Footings…

Progress!

Today we had our first meeting as a group to discuss our ideas for the show and to determine who shall be taking each role. We came up with a subject to headline our broadcast and our idea is local talent. More specifically, bands and artists who are from and partake in the local music scene of Lincolnshire. Our early thoughts are to promote and celebrate some of the bands from our region and inform our audience about the musical history of Lincolnshire and to bring out a few surprising facts that you may not know already about our county! We are thinking about including a live interview or two from a local up and coming band, a few tracks that have been recorded by bands in our area, and to keep up to date with all of the local gig listings, festivals and events to help further publicise and promote the artists that are emerging from our region. I feel particularly excited about this show, not only being local myself, from Boston, I have also been involved in the music scene locally playing in bands and gigs across the county and know first hand how hard it is to make a start and to be heard and this is why our show is being created! We are all meeting up again tomorrow to further dissect some of our ideas and shall hopefully know more in the next few days.
